Spring Travels — Puglia – part 2

After staying in Lecce for 5 nights and touring on the Adriatic coast, we switched to Gallipoli on the other side of the “boot”.  Here are some photos from that area.

In Gallipoli we wanted plenty of vegetables to counterbalance all the excellent seafood we had been eating.  The chef at Trattoria Santa Monaca willingly obliged us, to our great delight!

This photo of the “cooking mamas of Puglia” is from the cooking school in Squinzano, where we had a lesson the previous week.  Ylenia Sambati (second from the left) is the owner of Yltours, who planned and arranged our whole trip.  Her mother and other relatives are alongside.
